N.R. NARAYANA MURTHY

   N.R. Narayana Murthy is an Indian businessman, software engineer & the founder of Infosys Technologies. He was the CEO of the company for 21 years, from 1981 to 2002. He is currently the non-executive Chairman of Infosys. His estimated net worth is $1.6 billion as of 2010.

   He was born into Kannada Madhwa Brahmin family in Mysore in 20th August,1946. He has done his B.E electrical from the National Institute of Engineering, University of Mysore in 1967 & M.Tech from IIT Kanpur in 1969. In 1981 with an investment of Rs.10,000 from his wife, he founded Infosys. Today Infosys is acknowledged by customers, employees,  investors & general public as a highly respected, dynamic & innovative company. Infosys is the first Indian company to be listed on an American stock exchange (NASDAQ:INFY). Narayana Murthy retired from his executive position at Infosys on 20th August,2006. After retirement he started a new venture capital fund called Catamaran Venture Fund.

   His wife Sudha Murthy is an Indian social worker & accomplishes author. They have two children- Rohan & Akshta. Rohan is engaged to Lakshmi Venu. Akshta is married to Rishi Sunak.

   He serves on the boards of various companies & universities across the world namely:

1. DBS Bank of Singapore.
2. NDTV.
3. Central Board of RBI.
4. HSBC.
5. IIM Ahmadabad etc.

   Mr.Murthy has received many honors & awards:

1. Top Entrepreneurs in 1999.
2. Businessman of the year in 1999.
3. Asia Power 50 in 2000.
4. Padma Shri in 2005.
5. Padma Vibhushan in 2008.

RATAN TATA

   Ratan Tata was born 28th December 1937. He is a presently the chairman of Tata Sons,the holding company of the Tata Group. He also the chairman of the major Tata companies such as Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Tea etc. He is the great grandson of  Tata group founder Jamsedji Tata.

   Ratan Tata completed his BSc degree in architecture with structural engineering from Cornell University in 1962 & Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School in 1975. In 1971, Ratan Tata was appointed the Director-in-charge of The National Radio & Electronics Company Limited. In 1991 he took over as group chairman from J.R.D.Tata. Ratan Tata's dream was to manufacture a car costing Rs.1,00,000. He realized his dream by launching NANO in New Delhi Auto Expo on 10th January,2008.

   Ratan Tata has a metallic blue Maserati & Ferrari California. He has never been married. He likes to wear Hermes ties & matching handkerchiefs.

   He has achieved so many awards in his life. But I mentioning only few of them.

1. India's 50th Republic Day on 26 January 2000, Ratan Tata was honoured with the Padma Bhushan.
2. On 26 January 2008, he was received Padma Vibhushan.
3. He has recently received an honorary Doctor of Law from the University of Cambridge.

                         Ratan Tata is a great personality & I admired him.
